29. Bristol LH DBY 470 (GDV 458N) in Floriana. Most of the Maltese LHs came from Southern/Western National.

30. EBY 479 (NHE 10F) is a Marshall-bodied Leopard, new to Tracky of course and still retaining many origibal features. A very nice bus. It is seen in Sliema.

Buses in Malta

31. Bedford SBG/Mercieca EBY 481 reverses at the Senglea terminus.

Buses in Malta

32. Dodge T110L/Aquilina EBY 482 at Ghadira Bay.

Buses in Malta

38. Bedford SB/Aquilina EBY 515 at St. Julian's.

Buses in Malta

39. Dodge/Aquilina EBY 529 drops down in to St. Julian's.

Buses in Malta

40. AEC Swift EBY 534 (EGN 572J) on the bus park at Valletta. This site is now being prepared as the new bus station.

Buses in Malta

41. A real gem, EBY 537 is an immaculately presented Ford ET7 with Micallef body. Let's hope this at least survives.

Buses in Malta

42. EBY 543 will be instantly recognisable to many as another Leopard new in Yorkshire, this time as WYPTE LUG 524P and with attractive Plaxton Derwent body.

Buses in Malta

43. Another LH, a rather tired-looking EBY 544 (GDV 460N) in Mosta.

Buses in Malta

44. For a long time, EBY 546 was thought to have a Leopard chassis but it is in fact a Leyland Beaver. Body is by Grech.

Buses in Malta

45. Bedford SL/Aquilina EBY 556 passes through Birkirkara.

Buses in Malta

46. Bedford/Tonna EBY 560 climbs in to Mellieha.

Buses in Malta

47. EBY 565 is described as a Maltese (Baileys) with Gauci bodywork. It shows off its fearsome grille in Xemxija Bay.

Buses in Malta

48. EBY 567 is based on an AEC Reliance chassis, which was new as 9191 NW. It has a 1982 Grech body and is in Bugibba.

Buses in Malta

49. Bedford YRQ/Plaxton EBY 580 (XWW 791L) climbs round the tight bend from St. Paul's Bay to Mosta.

Buses in Malta

52. A pair of Plaxton YRQs rest at Bugibba.

Buses in Malta

53. AEC/Debono EBY 612 at Ghadira Bay with Red Rock behind.

Buses in Malta

54. There are several ex Blackburn Tiger Cubs, all of which look different. EBY 637 (GBV 13E) exhibits Bristol LH tendencies at Msida.

Buses in Malta

55. Smartly turned out EBY 642 actually is what it says it is, new as EGN 243J.

Buses in Malta

56. Bedford YRQ/Plaxton EBY 655 (UNU 178K) departs Valletta. Readers may remember it closer to home?

Buses in Malta

57. And finally (for now), FBY 657 (WVG 788X) is another Bedford YMQ/Marshall, seen at Marsa shortly after having departed Cirkewwa ferry terminus.

John recommends the Malta Bus Fleetbook produced by Buses Worldwide, an invaluable reference source.
