The annual Classic Bus Rally took place at Locomotion Shildon on Sunday 1st August.

The event is organised by the Aycliffe & District Bus Preservation Society who hold their event at this interesting venue where there is lots of railway history to see as well as the buses.

Free bus rides are given on site as Aycliffe owned vehicles take over the shuttle bus services normally run by a modern low floor vehicle and a free service around the local area is also operated both by Aycliffe vehicles and some of the visiting buses and coaches.

The highlight for me was a ride on the recently restored AEC Duple Britannia owned by Thornes of Selby.
