I thought it might be nice to submit some photos from this year's Dalesbus operation in Yorkshire, especially as there have been some rather
interesting vehicles in use. A little background:
For many years now, the Dalesbus network has operated linking various parts of North and West Yorkshire with the Dales and also providing
some related local services between key towns and villages in the Dales. The bulk of the services operate on Sundays and Bank Holidays over
an extended summer season that lasts into October and are very popular with walkers and daytrippers alike. This year there has been additional
enthusiast interest, with services 800 (York - Hawes), 812 (York - Grassington) and X52 (Knaresborough - Ilkley) and part of services 883/4
(Ilkley - Malham) being operated by York Pullman, using ex Ulsterbus Leyland Tigers (albeit Volvo-powered ones in the main). Also of
enthusiast interest is Godsons intermittent use of one of two ex Preston Leyland Lynxes on their 820 (Leeds - Richmond) service - some
mileage for a Lynx these days! I've included photos of these, photos of some of the other services that form part of the newtwork or
operate locally to it and of Chris Bulmer's "Vintage Omnibus Services" operation passing through Hawes.
