I am delighted to see the many excellent images of the Duple marque.
Here are a few more taken at the Llandudno event in May this year.

Another photo for the Duple page. This 425 (the last new model Duple
introduced before its 1989 closure) was at this year's Potteries
rally.
Duple coaches never seemed to be as common or popular as Plaxtons in
the 1980s; certainly there are more Plaxtons around today.
Bob Brimley writes (12 August 2010):
Some rather different Duple bodied buses and coaches.
1. Seen undergoing restoration at Quantock Motor Services workshops in Langley Marsh Wiveliscombe is JNN 384 a 1947 ex Barton
Transport of Chilwell Leyland PD1 with duple front entrance body. Unusual in having double sliding entrance doors.
2. Pictures in Taunton is CCX 777 a 1945 ex Huddersfield Joint Omnibus Committee Daimler CWA6 with Duple lowbridge utility body.
3. Seen on Minehead seafront is LJH 665 a 1949 ex Lee of Barnet Dennis Lance 111 with Duple A type coach body.
4. See at the BVBG rally in Brislington Bristol is LTA 729 a 1951 ex Royal Blue (Western National) Duple bodied Bristol LL6B coach.

The first photograph is of a Clowe's Duple 425 coach in Buxton, taken in
December 2007.
The next 30 pictures, taken by my Dad and me, are of of Duple
buses and coaches from
the UK Coach Rally and the 2010 Chatsworth Gathering (mainly Duple-
bodied Bedford OBs).

Here's my contribution to the Duple pages.
A very smart Duple bodied Bedford JCN 581N owned from new by Henry Cooper Coaches.
From being their front line coach it was gradually moved down the fleet over the years, to eventually being used on
schools and local private hire jobs, but it was still kept in immaculate condition.
It was shunted in the rear by a lorry and although it could have been repaired the insurance company refused to re-insure it and
insisted on it being cut up.
Richard Lomas writes: (3 August 2010):
Here is my contribution to the Duple feature. It was taken in April 1972 - I think it is at Long Eaton depot.
Whilst Duple is best remembered for single deckers and coaches, they did build some double deckers with Barton's PD1s being the most
notable. This picture was taken in April 1972 when 509 would have been 24 years old. 1122 is a former Hall Brothers Bedford VAL and was
a mere 7 years old in 1972. Bartons often used coach bodied vehicles as service buses.

RBC 345C is a 1969 Bedford VAL70 with Duple Viceroy C53F that was new to Cook of Dunstable. It was photographed with Vals Classic
Coaches, Chase Terrace 08/11/2009, with a close up of the nice enamelled radiator badge. Also at Vals on 08/11/2009: RIB 6844 Leyland
Tiger with Duple 320 C61F, new in 4/1989 to Bebb Travel, Llantwit Fardre as F59 YBO; and C307 SAO a Duple 425 C55Ft new as JPY 505 to
Whittle, Kidderminster in 9/1985.

Another Duple: EAV 458 is a Leyland Tiger PS1 with Duple C35F coachwork, new in the late 1940s to Sutherland of Peterhead.

The photo of the Duple 320 (see below and
HERE)
reminded me of this similar example of Owens of Rhiwlas seen in Llandudno on the first of May this year.
For vehicles of "mature " years, they look in good condition.
