After looking forward to this event, we were really disappointed.

We arrived for the 9am departure. As we waited for the train to arrive on the platform we heard that the rostered 08 shunter had failed. This was a taste of things to come for the rest of the day.

An over ambitious timetable left us waiting for trains that were over an hour late, usually in the rain.

Not once were we told anything by anyone working this railway.

We cut our day short as things hadn’t got any better by mid afternoon.
