Richard Lomas writes:

On Wednesday afternoon 8 September 2010 I had a walk round Nottingham with my camera to see the results of the latest timetable changes.

Nottingham 8 September 2010

1. The Blue Line city terminus has moved from Milton Street to Queen Street with buses travelling along Lower Parliament St and King Edward St in both directions. This is a more direct route for inbound journeys.

2. The NCT Red Line circular 44 and 45 to Gedling has been split. The 44 runs via Colwick and the 45 runs via Mapperley as the Sky Blue Line.

3. Frequencies on several services including the Pink Line have been increased.

5. Premiere continue to operate competitive services to Mapperley. Their buses have impressive fleet numbers - this is 3358.

6. A typical Parliament Street scene with congestion caused by buses. Trams on all the main corridors out of the city would solve this.

7. Radical Red! This bus also had an advert for tb's Red Arrow on the near side but I didn't get a picture.

8. The Lilac Line service 23 to Bakersfield has become part of the Red Line been renumbered 43 but it still terminates in King St.

9. Premiere 2205 in Friar Lane on a new service Red 2 competing with tb to Cotgrave.

10. Red 2 timetable - it runs everyday and in the evenings.

Nottingham 8 September 2010

11. Premiere runs 5 mins ahead of tb's Cotgrave Connection which has just pulled on to the stand. Midland General have registered a yet another new service to Cotgrave starting in October with service number 99p.

12. The Cotgrave Connection with a Radcliffe Line and Skylink behind it.

13. YourBus services to Chilwell and Bulwell were unaffected by the changes.

14. A Bingham Xpress squeezing past a competing Premiere Red 1 to Bingham.

Nottingham 8 September 2010

15. Now the Red 1 has to get past the Xpress.

Nottingham 8 September 2010

16. The terminus of Premiere's half hourly X9 service to Loughborough has moved from Broadmarsh bus station to Angel Row. This service is often operated by these extra long Scanias. When this one arrived, surprisingly there were no NCT Green Line buses in sight.

Nottingham 8 September 2010

17. The Scania was on time and on the stand for less than 5 minutes but it still conflicted with the NCT Versa behind it.

Nottingham 8 September 2010

18. They both left together.

19. Premiere 2218 bound for Cotgrave.

Nottingham 8 September 2010

20. The Ruddington Connection in Broadmarsh. This service was extnded to run round the City Loop for a short time but reverted back to Broadmarsh.

Nottingham 8 September 2010

21. The Radcliffe Line and Bingham Xpress call at Broadmarsh whereas Premiere's competing Red 1 does not.

Nottingham 8 September 2010

22. Rainbow 4s and Indigos have plenty of room in Nottingham compared with the crowded Derby bus station.

Nottingham 8 September 2010

23. Rainbow 4 runs every 10 minutes from Nottingham (4 was the old Barton service to Sandiacre).

Nottingham 8 September 2010

24. To my surprise Red 2 calls at Broadmarsh but uses a different stand from competing tb services. Inbound Red 1 and Red 2s travel round the City Loop whereas competing tb services go straight to Friar Lane.

25. Finally a Bingham Xpress in Broadmarsh.
