1. View of the buses gathering in the lower part of the bus station at Exeter before the event with the 3 original Exeter half cabs. Last
year JFJ 873 was not available for the event. This year it travelled down from its base in Coventry to be present.
2. The 3 Devon General double deckers lined up in the lower yard prior to the start of the event.
3. Ford Transit C896 GYD was not part of the event but turned up just before the start. It left during the early evening.
4. UFJ 296 a 1957 Guy Arab coming onto stand at Exeter Bus station.
5. Just like last year Bristol Lodekka 969 EHW covered for one of the missing buses.
6. One of the Devon General AEC Regents about to depart the bus station. Actually only 2 of the 3 DG buses carried passengers. The third
one had a problem but went round the routes for photographers.
7. TFJ 808 a 1956 Guy Arab coming onto the stand.
8. Ford Transit shuttle bus C748 FFJ entering the bus station. It worked services to The Quay and Exeter St. David's Railway Station.
9. One of the 2 Daimler half cabs leaves the bus station on route 65 to Redhills. I sometimes navigate on this bus and had the chance to
travel down with it but I was needed back in West Midlands, so had to drive down by car. However it met up with a former Exeter bus conductor
in full uniform for the event.
10. 1958 Leyland Titan VFJ 995 leaves the bus station. The mass of photographers shows how better the conditions were this year.
11. DG AEC Regent ROD 765 at Crossmead terminal - note lack of condensation in bus compared to last year due to mild weather.
12. DG AEC Regent TTT 781 also at Crossmead but without passengers due to it's technical problems. It followed ROD 765 all evening.
13. Photo stop for EFJ 666 working Pennsylvania route. For a 1938 vehicle it coped well with the hills on this route.
14. Photo stop for JFJ 873 on Redhills route.
15. VDV 817 1957 AEC Regent leaving the bus station. It worked within Exeter until 1971.
16. TFJ 808 and JFJ 875 leaving on different services at the same scheduled time.
Programmes cost £1 and all buses carried donation boxes, all money going to the Radio Devon Air Ambulance service. More information

. . . and finally, an evening photograph taken in Exeter by Ken Jones, but not in 2011. Nearly 50 years ago, Ken, wearing short trousers, rested his camera on a policeman's head
to get this shot!
